Interns - Summer 2015

September 1, 2015

In summer 2015, YCMD sponsored a fourth round of ten-week research paid internships for undergraduate students.   This year, we mentored a very talented group of students who worked with our research staff and took on the following real world projects: (1) Investigation and applications of CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing system (Amanda Buckingham, Yale University); (2) Assessment and improvement of YCMD business model (Brian Hogan, Yale University); (3) Chemical biology: screening for enzyme inhibitors using mass spectrometry (Tony Scott, Yale University); (4) Protocol development for machine learning for phenotypic cellular analysis (Ben Shao, UCONN); (5) Investigation of cancer cell spheroid growth and analysis (Sydney Wade, Yale University). We’ve truly enjoyed mentoring the students and helping them get a hands-on research and business experience!  All projects were highly successful and provided significant contributions to YCMD research pipeline and Center growth.
