Will Hungerford is a Research Associate at the Center for Molecular Discovery. Will has over 18 years of industrial scientific expertise in multi-step synthesis, drug design, and development of novel chemical methodology in pre-clinical drug discovery oncology, diabetes and antibacterial therapeutic areas. He has a deep mastery and expertise in heterocyclic synthesis, microwave chemistry, flow technology with excellent functional and technical knowledge regarding high-speed combinatorial target design, synthesis, isolation and characterization. Currently he also serves as the Center’s on-site technical specialist with Agilent 1100/1200 analytical HPLC’s, Waters analytical HPLC systems, Agilent/Gilson/Shimadzu semi-prep and prep HPLC’s and their associated software packages. Before joining Yale in 2012, Will served as a Research Scientist at the Institutes for Pharmaceutical Discovery in Branford, CT. Prior to that, he served as a Forensic Chemist within the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Prior to the DEA, Will was with Pfizer, Inc. in Groton, CT. Will has authored or co-authored 12 manuscripts and published 4 pending patents. He obtained a M.S. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and a B.S. in Organic Chemistry from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
